About

About the Threat Assessment and Management Team (TAMT)

The TAMT is multidisciplinary, including, at minimum, representatives from the NAU Police Department, the Office of Human Resources, Student Affairs and the Office of General Counsel. Others may join as needed to address particular situations. The response team may also coordinate with external community resources where appropriate.

If this is an emergency or urgent workplace violence issue, call 9-1-1 immediately.

What the TAMT does

Determine threat level

TAMT members work as a team to try to best determine if an individual poses or could potentially pose a threat of violence to others.

Assist the reporter

TAMT provides assistance to faculty, staff, students, families, and community members who encounter threatening or disruptive behavior.

Inquire, assess, and take action

After a report has been initiated, the TAMT will collect information, determine whether any appropriate intervention(s) should be taken, and follow up with the reporting party or any parties affected, as appropriate.
