Alumni Flagstaff Alumni Chapter Lumberjack

The NAU Flagstaff Alumni Chapter combines service with socialization.

Dental hygienist Jenny Zamora-Garcia, ’86, is known across town as the “Flagstaff Tooth Fairy,” dressing up in a gown, tiara, and wings to add an element of whimsy to the serious business of oral health.

For Zamora-Garcia, membership in the Flagstaff Alumni Chapter keeps her connected to NAU and provides another outlet for her extensive community volunteer work. Zamora-Garcia organized a 2019 event that provided free dental services worth nearly $38,000 to 35 patients. In 2021, Zamora-Garcia was named the Northern Arizona Oral Health Hero of the Year in recognition of her dedication to expanding access to dental care. Her son Aaron, BS Exercise Science, ’15, is also a proud Lumberjack.

Zamora-Garcia is pictured here with fellow Flagstaff Alumni Chapter member Samantha To, BS Exercise Science, ’12, who also lends her time and talent to the group, participating in volunteer and social events.
