Doctoral student Colin Chandler’s discovery leads to the reclassification of a planetary body.
Colin Chandler is well on his way to a career as an astronomer. As part of his research in NAU’s Astronomy and Planetary Science PhD program, Chandler led a study on activity of the distant planetary object Centaur 2014 OG392—a discovery that resulted in the reclassification of the Centaur as a comet. Chandler’s work was recognized by the American Astronomical Society, and he spoke at their annual meeting.
