Community Change Projects 2017

Social Work 423 students showing off creative projects made by elementary students at Killip Elementary Thanksgiving Carnival.

Each fall semester, senior social work students enrolled in SW 423 are asked to partner with a community organization to create a project that impacts a minimum of 25 clients.  Students address client needs identified by both the student group and the professional representative from the organization. This semester’s cohort completed 15 projects, and secured donated services or monetary donations exceeding $18,000 in support of their work.

NAU Launches Master’s in Social Work Degree (MSW)

It’s official! In fall of 2018, Northern Arizona University will accept its first Master of Social Work (MSW) students. This new program will provide access to a highly marketable graduate degree in a rapidly-growing field. Coursework will be offered online for the first year, and MSW students will be accepted at Flagstaff Mountain campus beginning in fall semester of 2019.
