Academic Operations


The Academic Operations area in the Provost’s Office oversees strategic leadership, administration, and resource investments that support student academic success across Northern Arizona University, including academic advising, academic records and scheduling, undergraduate research, and academic policies and fees.

Overview

The Academic Operations (AO) area consists of a number of offices, including University Advising, Office of the Registrar, Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity, Academic Affairs Business Analysts, and the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) programs.

The AO team supports academic advising, registrar operations, centralized course scheduling, academic policy oversight and implementation, university-wide instructional capacity management, academic unit operational analytics, academic fee oversight, academic business processes and systems, and uses of generative artificial intelligence.
