NACE Competencies
The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) has identified eight career readiness competencies, many of which Philosophy addresses in its curriculum. Career readiness is a foundation from which to demonstrate requisite core competencies that broadly prepare the college educated for success in the workplace and lifelong career management.* Philosophy students will develop career skills like Critical Thinking, Communication, Equity and Inclusion, Teamwork, and Professionalism throughout their course of study.
They will demonstrate these skills in a variety of ways, including:
- making decisions and solving problems using sound, inclusive reasoning and judgment;
- clearly and effectively exchanging information and perspectives; and
- accurately summarizing and interpreting data with an awareness of personal biases that may impact outcomes.
