Laura Bounds has been a member of the Northern Arizona University (NAU) Health Sciences faculty since 2002. Prior to NAU she taught at Texas A&M University (TAMU) in College Station, Texas. Laura earned her Doctorate from NAU in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Higher Education; she earned both her Master of Science in Health Education and her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from TAMU. Laura is the lead author of the textbook: Health and Fitness: A Guide to a Healthy Lifestyle, which is now in its fifth edition and has been adopted for use at multiple universities.
Laura currently serves as the lead faculty and program coordinator for the Health Sciences Department’s online (Extended Campuses) programs. Her past roles at NAU and TAMU included coordinating large credit-based physical activity programs that serve the entire student body.
