PRM Course Progressions

Park Ranger Law Enforcement Academy Emphasis

The Park Ranger Law Enforcement Academy (PRLEA) emphasis is designed for students interested in pursuing law enforcement careers with federal or state land management agencies such as the U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, municipal and state parks, or state environmental quality departments.

For PRM students admitted PRIOR to Fall 2015 Accordion Closed

Emphasis area (18 credit hours)

Required courses: (15 credit hours)

  • PRM 310 Park Protection I (4)
  • PRM 311 Park Protection I (4)
  • PES 100 Park Ranger Fit& Conditioning (1)
  • PRM 216 Wilderness First Responder (3)
  • PRM 401 Natural Resource Protection (3)

Choose ONE of the following: (3 credit hours)

  • PRM 331 Outdoor Leadership Certification 1 (3)
  • PRM 325 Special Event Planning (3)
  • PRM 350 Cultural Recreation (3) *Included in plan
  • FOR 445 Wilderness Management (3)
