Mission
State and Local Relations
The Government Affairs and Community Relations Department is responsible for day-to-day communication with the Arizona State Legislature, the Office of the Governor, and local and city governments. We communicate NAU’s priorities to elected officials and their staffs and ensure that the president of the university is apprised of all key legislative developments.
Strong state legislative relations are critical in helping NAU provide the best education possible to its students.
Federal Relations
Government Affairs and Community Relations staff coordinates university engagement with the United States Congress, the White House, and federal agencies and helps faculty and campus leaders identify opportunities for research support and ways to contribute to national policy.
