Transfer scholarships for Arizona residents

Northern Arizona University offers several transfer tuition scholarships for Arizona residents.

Jacks Transfer Award

The Jacks Transfer Award is for Arizona resident transfer students attending at our Flagstaff or statewide locations.

Award amount
  • Up to $4,000 per year if attending Flagstaff campus.
  • Up to $4,000 per year if attending statewide campus.
How to apply

Transfer students are automatically evaluated for this award upon admission and a completed FAFSA. This scholarship can be combined with other tuition scholarships if it does not exceed the cost of tuition.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for the Jacks Transfer Award, you must:

  • be an Arizona resident transferring to our Flagstaff or statewide locations.
  • be admitted as a transfer student.
  • be enrolled full-time (12+ credits per semester).
  • Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by May 1 for the following fall semester or December 1 for the following spring semester.
  • Accept your offer of admission and pay their enrollment deposit.
  • Have financial need (as determined by the FAFSA).
Renewal criteria

The Jacks Transfer Award is renewable for one additional year with continuous enrollment (fall and spring terms only; summer and winter terms are excluded).

Eligible students must maintain a 2.0 cumulative NAU GPA.

2NAU Scholarship

Northern Arizona University's 2NAU program partners with state and regional community colleges to offer you an affordable and convenient path to your bachelor's degree.

Award amount

$1,000 per term

How to apply

Transfer students are automatically evaluated for this award upon admission. This scholarship can be combined with other tuition scholarships if it does not exceed the cost of tuition.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for the 2NAU Scholarship, you must:

  • complete at least two terms in a 2NAU program; students may apply for admission to NAU beginning in the second term of their 2NAU program.
  • have at least 45 transferable credit hours accepted at NAU.
  • have a minimum 3.0 cumulative transfer GPA.
  • accept your offer of NAU admission.
  • enroll as a full-time student (12+ credit hours per term).
Renewal criteria

The 2NAU Scholarship is renewable for one additional year with continuous enrollment (fall and spring semesters only). Summer and winter terms are excluded.

Recipients must maintain a 2.0 cumulative NAU GPA.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is for members of the PTK Honor Society who are transferring to NAU.

Award amount

$4,000 per academic year

Availability and renewal

Two consecutive years (fall and spring terms only) provided renewal criteria are met.

This scholarship can be combined with other tuition scholarships.

There is no final deadline for PTK selection. We’ll evaluate students according to all necessary documentation. You can even apply for the PTK scholarship after beginning classes at NAU.

Eligibility criteria
  • Be a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
  • Have a 3.5 cumulative transfer GPA.
  • Be enrolled full-time (12+ credits per semester).
  • Meet NAU's general criteria for transfer scholarships.
Renewal criteria
  • Maintain a 2.0 cumulative NAU GPA.
  • Continue to be enrolled full-time (12+ credits per semester).

All-Arizona Academic Team Scholarship

Nominations are based on outstanding academic performance and community service.

Award amount

100% of resident tuition.

How to apply

The Arizona Board of Regents selects the recipients from nominations provided by Arizona community colleges. Contact your community college for details.

Eligibility criteria
  • In addition to being an Arizona resident and being nominated by your community college, you must meet the general transfer eligibility requirements per the transfer scholarship.
  • You must begin attending NAU within one year of the award offer.
Availability and renewal criteria
  • The award is available for 10 consecutive undergraduate semesters or 60 credits (whichever the student meets first).
  • Fall and spring semesters only, provided the student meets the renewal criteria each year.
  • To renew the award, students must maintain a 3.25 cumulative GPA and be enrolled at least half-time (6+ credits).
