Teacher Intern Preparation Program

Eligibility criteria

If you have a bachelor’s degree or higher and wish to teach full-time with salary and benefits, NAU’s Teacher Intern Preparation Program (TIPP) may be for you. TIPP is an alternative pathway offered at NAU that enables a candidate to enter into a teaching contract while completing the requirements for a standard Arizona teaching certificate.

How to apply

In order to qualify for the TIPP program, candidates must possess the following items:

  • a completed application for an Alternative Teaching Certificate from the Arizona Department of Education
  • a bachelor’s degree or higher
  • a minimum grade point average of 3.00 in your undergraduate program of study
  • an IVP fingerprint clearance card
  • admission to one of the following graduate programs:
    • MEd Elementary Education with Certification
    • MEd Special Education Mild-Moderate Disabilities with Certification
    • MEd Early Childhood Special Education with Certification
    • MAT Teaching Science with Certification
