National Colonial Dames of Arizona Scholarship

The Department of History is proud to announce that history major Kaylen Wilson is the recipient of the National Colonial Dames of Arizona Scholarship. Kaylen is an exceptional history student. She presented two research projects at the 2023 Honors College Fall Symposium. One was a poster discussing the political development of cancer research in the United States, and the other was based on her capstone paper about the hospitality company Fred Harvey’s role in Arizona tourism. She has also contributed to the Louie’s Legacy project by creating entries for contemporary buildings that are not currently listed on the website. Kaylen is graduating this spring and plans to pursue an MA degree in public history and eventually work for the National Park Service.

Congratulations to Kaylen, and many thanks to Phyllis Gotsis and Colonial Dames of Arizona for supporting NAU’s history students!
