- contact information and any elements specifically requested from the employer, such as a photo or references
- a summary of your skills, abilities, and relevant experiences
- a concise, professional appearance (alignment, format, margins, etc.)

- 1–2 pages maximum, or as specified by the potential employer
- references who are knowledgeable about your abilities
Résumé format
- personal information including name, phone number, and email

- relevant experience
- other information you believe is important and relevant to the job, including language proficiency, awards, skills, or membership in professional organizations
Selecting references
- people who can speak to your ability and potential
- student teaching/practicum coordinators, supervisors from a previously held job, or university instructors are good examples
