Research interests

Isolation and characterization of siderophores and other secondary metabolites from pathogenic bacteria, and enzymological examination of the biosynthetic pathways responsible for their formation

Heterologous expression of biosynthetic enzymes as an alternate route to commodity chemicals

Secondary effects of modulation of bacterial isoprenoid biosynthesis

Use of ionic liquids as extractive agents for biofuel producing algae and bacterial biofilms.
