Renowned border journalist to speak at Latin American Studies Virtual Event

NAU’s College of Arts and Letters Latin American Studies, along with the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice and humanitarian group No More Deaths will hold an online Zoom event with Todd Miller, an independent journalist and author of books including Empire of Borders: The Expansion of the US Border Around the World.

The online event will take place Monday, September 21 at 5:00 p.m.

Empire of Borders is the third book Miller has written on the topic of the U-S border. His other two are Storming the Wall: Climate Change, Migration, and Homeland Security and Border Patrol Nation: Dispatches from the Front Lines of Homeland Security. He has also been published in numerous publications including The New York Times, The Guardian, and Al Jazeera.

He’s a contributing editor for North American Congress on Latin America’s Report on the Americas and its column “Border Wars”.
