Monica is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training. She completed her Ph.D. in Evaluation, Measurement, and Research in 2012, from Western Michigan University, with a post-doctoral fellowship in Measurement and Applied Statistics in 2014. Since starting at NAU in 2014, Dr. Lininger’s research has focused on concussion reporting and musculoskeletal injury prevention in collegiate student-athletes within a health-equity framework. With over 60 peer-reviewed publications, several federally funded grants, and numerous state, regional, and national presentations, Dr. Lininger serves on the NATA Research Committee and Editorial Boards of the Journal of Athletic Training and Athletic Training Education Journal as a statistical consultant. Her goals within the classroom are to create autonomous clinicians who can think critically, all in a safe space while having fun! She enjoys spending time outside hiking, skiing, or mountain biking with her husband and two daughters.
