Monica comes to Northern Arizona University as an Assistant Professor in Physical Therapy and Athletic Training.  She completed her Ph.D. in Evaluation, Measurement, and Research in 2012, from Western Michigan University, where she focused on the types of research designs and methodologies used in Athletic Training research.  Currently, Dr. Lininger is a part of an interdisciplinary research team investigating the culture of concussion reporting in Division I football student-athletes (federally funded grant through the Department of Defense and the NCAA).  Secondly, Dr. Lininger is working with other athletic training and physical therapy researchers to evaluate different injury screening tools and the ability of these tools to predict lower extremity injury.  She enjoys spending time outside hiking with her husband and two daughters, or running the many trails that Flagstaff has to offer.
