Douglas Wells, BS Business Admin., ’76, retired from his family newspaper business in 2016. Doug managed the Williams News since 1978 and coordinated the expansion of the newspaper by publishing Grand Canyon News beginning in 1980.

Jesse Valencia, BS Humanities, ’11, MA English- Creative Writing, ’14, MA English-Literature, ’15, has created a document titled “Sitgreaves County Proposal” to propose a change in state legislature to separate Apache County from parts of the Navajo Nation. This proposal would also create a new county called “Sitgreaves County” in Show Low, AZ. Jesse is a filmmaker, author and musician.
Jeffrey Kane ’12
Jeffrey Kane, PhD Forestry, ’12, was the guest speaker for the Mississippi State 2018 Carlton N. Owen Lecture Series. He presented “Ecological insights of litter flammability traits in southeastern U.S. tree species”. Jeffrey is an associate professor of fire ecology and fuels management. He also is the Director of Wildland Fire Lab at Humboldt State University.
