Certificate in Rhetoric, Writing, and Digital Media Studies

The Certificate in Rhetoric, Writing, and Digital Media Studies offers qualified post-baccalaureate students a graduate level understanding in theories and practices of rhetoric and composition studies, literacy studies, and digital media studies without enrolling in a master’s program in Rhetoric, Writing, or Composition Studies.

The Certificate program provides you with the necessary qualifications to be certified as an instructor teaching English composition courses at the community college level or teaching dual enrollment courses. Courses in the certificate program are designed to introduce you to theories and practices that are directly applicable to classroom teaching.

Completing the Certificate program will help you remain in your current field of instruction, or the certificate will allow you to be employed as introductory composition instructors. You will also be able to use the coursework for continuing education credit and for moving to different positions within educational institutions.
