What Writing Center Consultants do and don’t do
Writing Center consultants provide encouragement, tools and strategies to help students improve their own papers; however, consultants do not proofread, edit, or revise students’ papers or tell them what to write.
Consultants also help students learn to recognize and correct patterns of errors themselves, but students and faculty should be aware that not all writing issues can be addressed during a single appointment.
Consultants may recommend follow-up appointments in order to help students strengthen their writing skills over a reasonable period of time.
