2.05 Reclassification and Salary Adjustment

This policy describes reclassification and salary adjustments for Classified Staff and Service Professionals.

Origination Date: 10/1/93
Revised: 1/1/2000, 6/01/2018
Applicability: Classified Staff and Service Professionals

A department supervisor may request a reclassification or a salary adjustment addressing reasons other than performance or merit for a Classified Staff or Service Professional employee using procedures and forms established by the Human Resources Department.  Performance based salary adjustments will be addressed as part of an institutional program approved by the President when funding is available.

Under most circumstances, an employee should be in his or her current position for at least six months before being considered for a reclassification or salary adjustment. A position may be evaluated no more than once per year. If an employee leaves the position during the course of a review, the employee is not eligible to receive back pay or compensation that may have resulted from that review.

Exceptions to this policy may be made by the Chief Human Resources Officer or designee.
