Institutional measures and remedies
Institutional remedies may be short-term or permanent, remedial measures to ensure (a) the safety of all individuals involved in a complaint of sex discrimination/harassment and (b) the fairness of the complaint process. They are not decisions about responsibility.
Institutional remedies can be enacted quickly, even before (or without) a complaint being filed.
Remedies can include:
- No-contact orders
- Changes to on-campus housing assignments
- Temporary emergency housing (for off-campus students)
- Changes to class, activity, or student employment schedules
- Academic accommodations
- Interim suspension
- Additional measures may also be possible
The Office of Student Life coordinates/authorizes institutional remedies.
