What you need to know when applying to NAU’s Teaching & Learning
Helpful information for students wishing to pursue degrees in education through Northern Arizona University’s Department of Teaching and Learning.
For undergraduates
In addition to applying to the university through Undergraduate Admissions, you must apply and be admitted to the college’s teacher-education program before you take any education courses except EDF 200, EDF 301W, and ESE 380.
Applications for the program are accepted online February 1-15 and September 1-15 of every year. Paper copies will not be accepted.
Teacher education program orientation
- Flagstaff campus students
- Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Special Education students are required to complete this online orientation as part of the application process.
- Statewide campus students – many of NAU’s statewide campuses require you to attend a local orientation. Contact your local advisor for details.
For graduate students
In general, to apply for admission, you must submit an application and official transcripts to Northern Arizona University’s Office of Graduate and Professional Studies.
Doctoral programs
The College of Education is pleased to announce that we now offer the PhD in Curriculum and Instruction. Apply to this program through the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies. If you need additional information, you may contact the Teaching and Learning office.
