What is student assistance?
Here at NAU, we know that students may experience a variety of challenges during their college career. The Office of Student Life and Student Outreach and Support (NAU SOS) are working together, along with campus and community partners, to be a central location that provides coordinated efforts to address the needs of students who struggle in such areas as psychological health, physical health, victimization, relationship issues, social adjustment, and academics. We do so through a variety of interventions, referrals, and follow up services.
The Office Student Life staff prides itself on serving students. We also strive to exercise our professional judgement and support to assist students when they are faced with unexpected and challenging circumstances. The Office of Student Life may prepare a Classes Missed Memo as a courtesy to instructors advising them of a student’s absence.
