In July 2017, Project STRIDE will provide selected scholars with

District/Employer Benefits and Expectations

We are pleased to announce a continuing project funded by the Office of Special Education Projects (OSEP) that will be offered through the College of Education at Northern Arizona University to support 20 graduate students to earn certification and a M.Ed. in Early Childhood Special Education. The program is Flagstaff-based; however all coursework will be delivered online and scholars will participate in a two-day face-to-face summer orientation and three-day summer intensive institute. Project STRIDE faculty will provide ongoing mentoring to the scholars and will collaborate with LEAs and community programs to coordinate classroom experiences.

How do I apply to Project STRIDE?

Application Requirements

  • Unofficial transcripts
  • 3 Professional Letters of Recommendation
  • District/Employer Letter of Support
  • Personal Statement in which you answer the following two questions: (1) What strengths and personal and/or professional experiences will you contribute to Project STRIDE? And (2) Project STRIDE Scholars are expected to be committed to the program—How will you manage competing demands (e.g. Personal, work, family) along with the demands of an intense graduate program?
