NAU Dental Hygiene alumna makes a difference

Alumni CHHS Dental hygiene dentistry department of dental hygiene oral health education

Yes, there is a tooth fairy in Flagstaff, and her name is Jenny Zamora-Garcia.

Zamora-Garcia attended NAU’s Dental Hygiene program and is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Dental Hygiene. She gained her nickname by dressing as the tooth fairy while providing oral health education in schools. Her work expanding Mission of Mercy’s annual free dentistry event to Flagstaff, helping in the Poore Clinic, and increasing awareness of the dental needs of low-income families are among the reasons she was awarded Flagstaff’s Citizen of the Year in 2022.
