Parks and Recreation Management, Minor

Do you have a keen interest in the outdoors and desire to help ensure the availability of future park, recreation, and leisure service opportunities? This minor will provide you with an overview of the fundamental Parks and Recreation Management skills and knowledge necessary to complement a variety of related majors, including Physical Education, Secondary Education, Communication, Hotel Administration, and Business.

Northern Arizona University's location is perfect for studying parks and recreation-six national forests and a dozen units of the National Park Service system are within a half-day's drive of campus, including the nearby Grand Canyon. You will be prepared for a career that encourages healthy lifestyles and enjoyment of the outdoors.

This minor is intended to open the door to the richness of America’s (and the world’s) parks, wildlands, and outdoor recreation settings. The program includes leadership, supervision, program planning, and relevant computer applications.
