SBS Teacher of the Year

Each year the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) awards the honor of Teacher of the Year to one of its distinguished faculty. Nominations may be made by a faculty member or student. Please consider nominating those faculty who you think are truly excellent teachers. The Teacher of the Year joins the Teaching Academy, is recognized at the annual Faculty Recognition Ceremony, and is rewarded through professional development funding.

Nominations for the 2022 Teacher of the Year are now closed. Nominations for the 2023 Teacher of the Year will open January 2023.

Criteria include:
  • Faculty must have held a benefit-eligible appointment at NAU for the past three consecutive years. This will be determined by the committee.
  • Faculty must have taught at least 48 credit hours of courses at NAU. This will be determined by the committee.
  • Faculty may not have received the award in the past five years.
