Campus Living Mission and Values

What guides our work

In May-June 2021, we set out to reestablish our mission and foundational values.  All areas of our department, including full-time, part-time, graduate and student staff, engaged in a reflective and generative effort over multiple weeks to develop our new mission and values. This participatory process laid the groundwork for our mission and foundational values to guide our work, decisions, interactions and reflections.

We strive for every prospective, current and former student living on campus to resonate, feel and live our mission and values. Every Campus Living team member, regardless of position, will see themselves and their work represented, shaped and supported through our mission and values.

Campus Living mission statement

We create a welcoming and vibrant campus living experience           where students connect, explore and belong.

How we do this

Through safe well-maintained facilities, excellent service, engaging programs, and meaningful staff interactions, we invest in the transformational growth, personal responsibility, and academic support of our students.

Campus Living foundational values

Our four foundational value areas guide us in all we do and how we do it – our interactions, approach, priorities, decisions, services, staffing, resources, processes, policies, reflection and navigation of complex situations. These values interrelate and work in concert to provide this critical, integrated and comprehensive lens.
