Travel fund application

Overview

The NAU Innovations Travel Fund is a pilot program to assist NAU research personnel in furthering
discussions with industry related to NAU intellectual property, services, research capacity, and
collaborative opportunities.

Objectives

• Provide funds for travel fees and expenses for NAU research personnel attempting to set up in
• person meetings with industry.
• Support research and scholarly projects for which outside funding is not available.
• Further in person industry contacts with companies that may be unwilling or unable to travel to NAU.

NAU Innovations Travel Fund Policies

Eligibility and Requirements

• Faculty members with the rank of lecturer or above and research professional staff are eligible to submit proposals. Junior faculty are strongly encouraged to apply.
• An invention disclosure must be on file with NAU Innovations prior to application approval.
• A pre-travel meeting must be set with NAU Innovations to discuss the company, current company contacts, the state of the current company relationship with NAU, potential meeting outcomes, and strategic preparation for the meeting.
• A post-travel meeting must be set with NAU Innovations to discuss outcomes and next steps.

The applicant will receive an email notification as soon as the application is approved by NAU
