Description

The food, energy, and water (FEW) nexus is a dynamic, coupled natural-human system manifesting at the mesoscale, in which interregional trade, river basins and aquifers, irrigation districts, crop belts, states, tribes, cities, power grids, climate gradients, and seasonal timescales interact. This technology employs a specialized mathematical network and ecological theories and uses economic theory and agent-based modeling to identify and model the evolution of the network in response to historically observed stresses and shocks in excess of critical thresholds.
