Posted by admin on August 30, 2019

The American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) recognized Dr. Andy Schrack Walters with AASECT’s Sexuality Educator Award at the organization’s 51st Annual Meeting held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  AASECT was founded in 1967 and is an interdisciplinary organization centrally devoted to the promotion of sexual health and advancements in sexuality counseling, therapy, and education.  Three distinguished awards were presented:  the Humanitarian Award, the Integrative Approaches to Sex Therapy Award, and the Sexuality Educator Award.   Drs. James Huggins (private practice), Michael Reece (Associate Dean of Research, Indiana University), Judith Steinhart (Columbia University [Ret.], and Nassau Community College), and Brea Burger (Apple, Inc., a former NAU student who completed two years of research experience with Dr. Schrack Walters in PSY 485) served as core nominators for the Sexuality Educator Award.
