Graduate Student Award Recipients Announced

The Department of Psychological Sciences is pleased to announce the recipients of two of its awards available to students in the Master of Arts in Psychological Sciences degree program.

Vicki Green Psychological Sciences Thesis Award

This scholarship is endowed by Vicki Green, Ph.D., a department faculty member from 1995 to 2005, and now a faculty emeritus.  There are two recipients of this scholarship.

Graduate Student Chelsea Taylor Places 3rd in 3MRP Competition

The 3 Minute Research Presentation (3MRP) Competition, hosted by the NAU Graduate College, provides an opportunity for NAU graduate students to present their scholarly and/or creative work to an audience in three minutes or less. Graduate student Chelsea Taylor earned third place in the competition with her presentation “In Search of a Relationship Between Dance and Spatial Reasoning.” Read more

Michele Lee Earns Prestigious CSW Award

Michele Lee, a second-year student in the Master of Arts in Psychology Sciences degree program was selected for the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) Outstanding Achievement and Contribution Award in the Student category.  This award honors a Northern Arizona University student who has made outstanding contributions to women’s leadership development and towards advancing the status of women at Northern Arizona University.Photograph of award winner, Michele Lee.Read more

Mallory Kroeck Receives the Vicki Green Psychological Sciences Thesis Award

The Vicki Green Psychological Sciences Thesis award provides funding for graduate students in the Department of Psychological Science to assist with expenses to conduct their research.  To be eligible for the award the student must have successfully completed their thesis proposal and obtained IRB approval.

PSY 302W Awards From SBS Research Symposium

The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Fall Research Symposium was held on Friday, November 30, 2018, in Ashurst Hall.  Over 160 posters were presented during the event, involving 341 participants and 27 faculty sponsors from throughout the college.  The fall symposium provides a much anticipated opportunity for students from the Department of Psychological Sciences to present research they conducted during Introductory Undergraduate Research (PSY 279), Undergraduate Research (PSY 485), or Introduction to Research Methods in Psychology (PSY 302W)… Read more
