Our Provost’s Office initiatives span the entire breadth of academic affairs at Northern Arizona University, seeking to partner with faculty and leaders across the institution to offer transformational learning opportunities for students and support world-class research and scholarship.

100% Career Ready

Our 100% Career Ready initiative focuses on preparing NAU graduates to flourish in a wide range of careers. By offering a broad portfolio of high-quality, well-designed academic programs that are responsive to the workforce and social needs of Arizona and beyond, we aim to prepare NAU graduates to contribute to the workforce and build meaningful and family-sustaining careers.

Artificial intelligence

With the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI tools, we are committed to staying at the forefront of these technologies and their impacts on how we foster student learning and career readiness. Current initiatives are focused on laying out foundational principles on transformative and ethical uses, offering guidance for adapting to these technologies, and supporting faculty in innovative applications to their teaching.

Student Momentum

Our student momentum initiatives focus on empowering students with comprehensive support and resources to succeed at NAU. Various efforts, including work across our academic units and all of academic affairs, ensure students maintain their momentum towards academic success.

The “Global Learning for All” initiative provides a wide range of global learning and intercultural experiences so that every Northern Arizona University student, regardless of their academic discipline or whether they can travel or not, can participate in these transformative global learning experiences.
