About the Office of the Provost

The Office of the Provost provides oversight, budget and personnel management, and strategic leadership for the entire academic enterprise at the university across all campuses and modalities.

Committed to academic excellence

The work of the Office of the Provost supports every single strategic pillar of the university’s work, with a particular emphasis on academic excellence and quality, student success and momentum, and impactful scholarship. This work includes oversight over all academic programs and curricula, co-curricular enrichment programs, academic fees, academic partnerships, faculty and academic personnel matters, college and academic department operations, international student support, university advising, and registrar.

Executive Vice President and University Provost

Manages all aspects of the academic enterprise, including academic colleges and departments, curriculum, faculty, and academic personnel.

Senior Vice Provost for Academic Operations

In charge of academic advising and student success support, academic records, undergraduate research and creative activity, academic policies and fees, academic affairs, business analyst support, and ROTC programs.

Vice Provost for Academic and Workforce Alliances

Oversees curriculum development processes and program review, statewide operations, and public and private partnerships.

Vice Provost for Academic Programming and Graduate Studies

Directs academic program development, career readiness initiatives, and graduate student support services.

Vice Provost for Global Affairs

Directs international student recruitment and support.

Vice Provost for NAU Online

Provides oversight and direction for online learning programs and online student support systems.
