University Leadership Program
Northern Arizona University is inviting faculty and staff to participate in a leadership development program that brings together partners from all over campus to help prepare the next generation of higher education leaders.
Participants explore leadership skills, discuss challenges facing the university and higher education across the nation and gain an understanding of how the Arizona university system functions. Other topics will include strategic planning and budgeting and how both serve to advance the overall mission of NAU. The program is aimed at identifying, informing and investing in future university leaders while breaking down barriers.
Sessions will be held on campus on one Friday each month through May. Participants must commit time for preparation in addition to attending each session.
2021-2022 Program
The application for the University Leadership Program beginning this fall will be open May 3rd – May 24th. If you are interested, be sure to check your email for the application announcement.
There may be changes to the program during the year based on the impact of COVID. We acknowledge both the importance of leadership development during these unique times, the responsibility to model good stewardship of our limited resources, and the need to keep everyone safe. We will only be accepting 20 participants for this cohort and will be adhering to all CDC guidelines for physical distancing and may include a combination of safe face to face activities and/or hybrid/virtual content delivery and participation. We ask that all accepted participants remain flexible as the CDC guidelines are updated and the options we have at NAU change over time.
