Diversity and community-building
We serve a growing student body and welcome an increasingly diverse population of students. We’re proud of our work to ensure that students enjoy a rich exchange of perspectives and knowledge, helping to enhance their education experience. We are dedicated to making sure that everyone finds the community and the support they need to achieve their goals.
Serving Native American students and scholars
Arizona is home to the country’s third-largest population of Native American and indigenous residents—residents who have historically been underserved and under-acknowledged. Northern Arizona University is committed to becoming the nation’s best university for indigenous students and scholars, both through investment in Native communities and academics and through the development of expansive, community-led cultural and educational resources.
Developing tomorrow’s community leaders
Our innovative master’s degree in Sustainable Communities helps future leaders refine a cross-disciplinary approach to building fair, environmentally conscious, and welcoming communities. The program represents a distillation of NAU’s larger commitment to civic engagement, research-driven scholar-activism, and social justice and transformation.
We’ve shown you just a few of the ways that we’re investing in the people we bring to our campuses and the communities they come from. Now, take a look at how we invest in the faculty and staff who are already here.
