Welcoming our Lumberjack community to a new academic year
Dear Lumberjacks,
This morning, classes began at Northern Arizona University on our Flagstaff Mountain Campus, statewide locations, and online. To all our Lumberjacks from Arizona and beyond, I want to share a welcome video (and a helpful hint that I was recently reminded of!) as the academic year gets underway.
I am inspired to welcome a new class of talented, hard-working students who seek to realize their full potential through NAU’s exceptional academic programs. Our incoming students represent the most accomplished, most Arizonan, and most diverse group of students in NAU’s history. In addition, this fall’s entering class is the first to benefit from the Access2Excellence tuition program that is powering opportunity for Arizonans. I encourage you to read the highlights about our new class of Lumberjacks.
I am so pleased to welcome back our returning students as they continue their educational journeys, and I am thankful for the tireless support and empowerment that is provided by our dedicated faculty and staff who work every day to advance our mission.
The contributions of all of you—our students, faculty, and staff—enrich our inclusive community of teachers, scholars, learners, advocates, and changemakers. I look forward to all that we will accomplish as a university community in the year ahead as we elevate excellence, deliver equitable postsecondary value, and power economic mobility and social impact.
I hope to see those of you on the Flagstaff Mountain Campus at the Welcome Back Jacks BBQ this Wednesday, and many of you at our statewide locations and on social media throughout the year.
Go Jacks!
