Our biggest fundraising year yet!
Dear Lumberjacks,
I will have much more to say about the banner academic year we just had when we convene on August 21 for our University Convocation, but just know that through our collective efforts we continue to show the world that Northern Arizona University is redefining the value of higher education.
There is no better validation that we are on the right track, charting the path on so many fronts, blazing a trail for other institutions who also want to better serve their communities, than how our university’s supporters respond to our work.
So, you can only imagine how proud I am to inform you that for the second year in a row, the NAU Foundation has set a new fundraising record for fiscal year 2023.
This year’s record is truly staggering: over $53 million! That’s more than 2.5 times the $21 million record from fiscal year 2022.
Philanthropic support is a critical asset that supports our students, faculty, and staff and propels many of our university’s strategic priorities. The incredible contributions made over the last year to our university reflect the generosity and compassion of nearly 11,000 donors who understand the value of NAU and our work to broaden participation, support student success, improve post-college outcomes, and bring vitality to the economy and communities of Arizona.
My sincere congratulations to Nick Lobejko, Vice President of Advancement | Foundation and CEO of the NAU Foundation, the entire Advancement team, and our dedicated NAU Foundation board members, for achieving this incredible milestone. Since joining the Lumberjack family in November, Nick has made an immediate impact, and I look forward to collaborating with him on even bigger goals in the future that will advance the fortunes of our great university.
As we prepare for what will surely be an exceptional academic year ahead, this milestone is a clear demonstration of the power of our vision and the impact of our work.
My thanks again to the Advancement | Foundation team, as well as all the dedicated members of the Lumberjack community who do so much to contribute to our mission. Let’s keep up the momentum for 2023-24!
