NAU announces the Steve Sanghi College of Engineering
Dear Lumberjacks,
I am thrilled to share a momentous development in the history of Northern Arizona University. Thanks to the generosity of Maria and Steve Sanghi, today we are renaming the College of Engineering, Informatics, and Applied Sciences to the Steve Sanghi College of Engineering.
Their $10 million unrestricted gift is the largest of its kind in NAU’s 125-year history. I am confident of the lasting impact this will have on our university, opening doors for talented students to prepare for careers of purpose, including in Arizona’s booming semiconductor industry.

I am deeply appreciative of Steve and Maria for their generosity and vision, and to the work of our colleagues in the College of Engineering and NAU Foundation who made this possible.
Importantly, this gift is a testament to the work of everyone at NAU as we sharpen our focus and strive to be the nation’s preeminent engine of opportunity. The Sanghi College of Engineering truly demonstrates the momentum we have built together and reflects the public confidence in our efforts to drive economic and social mobility while contributing to the vitality of Arizona’s communities and economy. Thank you for your partnership and commitment to NAU.
Sincerely,
José Luis Cruz Rivera
