NAU announces partnership with TheDream.US to support Dreamers’ pursuit of higher education
Dear Lumberjacks,
I am excited to announce that Northern Arizona University has officially entered into a new partnership with TheDream.US, the nation’s largest college and career success program for undocumented immigrant students, to help Arizona immigrant youth achieve their full potential in higher education. The partnership will allow undocumented immigrant students with or without DACA or TPS who came to the U.S. before age 16 and before November 1, 2017, the ability to apply for TheDream.US scholarships to pursue their education at NAU.
Through this partnership, NAU will further the will of the people of Arizona, as expressed in the passage of Proposition 308—which affords Arizona Dreamers with in-state tuition—and provide an invaluable pathway to upward economic mobility and social impact.
I am excited to begin this partnership and encourage members of our NAU community to read the joint press release from NAU and TheDream.US. This opportunity will be available to both new and continuing students to help ensure their college journey is affordable.
Together, we are working every day to meet the bold vision of NAU 2025 – Elevating Excellence and advance a broad range of efforts to bring more opportunity to the talented, hard-working students of Arizona and beyond who entrust this great university with their educational futures.
My thanks to the dedicated colleagues at NAU and TheDream.US for launching this important partnership.
Sincerely,
José Luis Cruz Rivera
President
