Other steps
To ensure a smooth and accurate process and to make sure you’re eligible for the most possible aid, be sure to:
- Keep an eye out for your Student Aid Report (SAR) (for the 2023-24 FAFSA) and the FAFSA Submission Summary (for the 2024-25 FAFSA) via email from the US Department of Education. Review the information provided and make any corrections. If you don’t receive this summary within a month after filing the FAFSA, contact the Federal Student Aid Information Center.
- Monitor your LOUIE student account and your NAU and personal email accounts for important information, updates, and requests from the university.
- Review your financial aid award offer, sent out via snail mail and email. NAU will receive FAFSA information mid-March, and will begin processing and mailing award letters as soon as possible after that. Be sure to keep an eye on your LOUIE account for any holds or To-Do List items.
Note: If you are a continuing or returning student to NAU, a minimum of half-time enrollment (6+ hours for undergraduate students; 5+ for graduate students) is required for financial aid to be awarded. This will occur after spring grades post.
