Searching for nursing scholarships can be time-consuming. To help speed up the process, we’ve compiled a list of scholarships specifically for nursing students, as well as other financial aid resources to help make nursing school more affordable.
NAU Foundation
These scholarships are based on race, gender and ethnicity. Apply for NAU Foundation scholarships through ScholarshipUniverse. Contact the NAU Foundation at naufoundation@nau.edu or 928-523-6590.
- Student must be an enrolled full-time undergraduate student (12 or more credit hours).
- Must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or above.
- Must be an Arizona resident.
- Must submit a letter of recommendation and unofficial transcripts.
- Student must submit a narrative describing their background and how this scholarship will help them meet their educational goals.
- Be at least 50% Native American belonging to either Arizona or Louisiana tribes only;
- Class standing of junior or above;
- Maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.5 [where A = 4.0];
- Preference shall be given to those students who are preparing to enter the health sciences areas which include nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, pharmacy and medical technology.

- A one-page essay that describes the student’s commitment to the healthcare needs of northern Arizona and his/her intention to work in the region upon graduation (Apache, Coconino, Mohave, Navajo, and/or Yavapai counties);
- Enrolled full-time in the American Indian Program, Fort Defiance;
- Arizona resident and US citizen;
- Junior or Senior level;
- Grade point average of 3.0 or greater (4.0 = A);
- A one-page essay that describes the student’s commitment to the healthcare needs of northern Arizona and his/her intention to work in the region upon graduation (Apache, Coconino, Mohave, Navajo, and/or Yavapai counties);
- Full-time or part-time student enrolled in the Concurrent Enrollment RN to BSN at Northern Arizona University and Coconino Community College;
- Arizona resident and US citizen;
- Junior or senior class level;
- Grade point average of 3.0 or greater (4.0 = A);
- A one-page essay that describes the student’s commitment to the healthcare needs of northern Arizona and his/her intention to work in the region upon graduation (Apache, Coconino, Mohave, Navajo, and/or Yavapai counties);
- Resident of Yuma County
- Enrolled in NAU/Yuma partnership program
- Majoring in Nursing

- Undergraduate BSN student at the sophomore level or above
- Completed the freshman year courses with at least a 3.0 GPA
- Registered for a minimum of six semester hours

- Preference for students who reflect characteristics of ethic and integrity, people skills, volunteer work, community commitment and care, and are bilingual

- are not currently receiving funding by a component of the US Army (i.e., scholarship ROTC students and students receiving full GI Bill benefits are not eligible)
- as applicable have had an honorable discharge
- or Nursing or anesthesia students whose parent(s), spouse, or child(ren) is serving or has served in a component of the US Army
- Majoring in an academic discipline within the NAU School of Health Professions
- Enrolled as a full-time student
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 at time of selection
- Must be a US citizen
- Must be at the junior or senior level
- Must be a resident of the Northern Arizona region
- Following graduation from the NAU School of Health Professions, the student is expected to consider working at Flagstaff Medical Center
- Must display evidence of commitment to health care field by either volunteer work or community involvement or similar contributions
Private donor scholarships
Eligibility and application details:
Applicants must be currently enrolled at an accredited 2-year college or 4-year university. Students of all majors are encouraged to apply. • Two students will be selected to receive $500 in scholarship funds based on merit, such as their winning essay responses to two essay prompts. • Scholarship funds must be used to pay for qualified expenses, including tuition, books and on-campus room and board. • To enter, applicants are encouraged to send their submission to Scholarships@WoodfieldLaundromat.com, along with their name, college/university, expected year of graduation, and intended major. • The deadline for submissions is Monday, September 16, 2019 at 11:59 P.M. The winner will be notified individually and announced before September 30, 2019.
