Clinical coursework

NAU Nursing clinical practice

Clinical coursework—or practica—provides you with hands-on experience in various professional healthcare facilities. During clinical courses, you’ll learn to apply theory to the practice of nursing. Many undergraduate courses have a 9-12 hour/week clinical practicum and graduate clinical practice varies with the selected track of the MS program.

You will do clinical coursework in various locations throughout Arizona:

  • Flagstaff
  • Cottonwood
  • Sedona
  • Tuba City
  • Gallup
  • Various Navajo Nations sites
  • Yuma
  • Phoenix
  • Kingman
  • Other locations within Arizona

Note: You are responsible for transportation, meals, and housing during your clinical courses.
