NAU enhances Native academic, social and cultural experiences
As one of the top 10 schools nationally for Native student enrollment, NAU provides a supportive environment that enhances the academic, social and cultural experiences of Native American students, staff and faculty.
Office of Indigenous Student Success
- With one-on-one guidance from staff members, students can build a strong support network and develop skills for academic success through ISS.
Indige-Bridge to Success Program
- This program guides new Native American, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian, and all people who identify as Indigenous first-year students through a successful college transition process and gives an overview of the university community from an Indigenous perspective.
Successful Transition and Academic Readiness (STAR)
- Through STAR, students may participate in a pre-college experience in which you live with other students who share your interests, ethnicity, identity, or worldview.
Student Support Services (SSS)
- Students who are first in their family to go to college, are income-eligible, or who have a disability can access layers of support through SSS to ensure a successful academic and social transition to college.
Academic Success Centers
- ASC offers academic assistance with free tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, and workshops – available to all students at two locations on campus.
Native Journey to Academic Success
- Through this program, Native students in the College of Health and Human Services have access to faculty mentoring, cultural support, and financial assistance.
