User groups and distribution lists are an effective means to provide services and access based upon membership provided to an NAU affiliated person.
ITS maintains user groups and distribution lists for the NAU community. Membership can be an automatic process based upon your affiliations. For example, if you are a student, you will automatically be included in an email distribution list for each class you are enrolled in. Other user groups and distribution lists are self subscribed.

Active Directory provides security across the domain for all faculty, staff, and students.
Email Client Distribution Lists are used to send an email to a predefined group of users. A message sent to a Contact Group goes to all recipients that are listed in the group. You can include Contact Groups in messages, task requests, meeting requests, and in other Contact Groups.
