Over Spring Break ITS will change Blackboard Learn application support from the current model to a hosted services model. What this means is that NAU’s Blackboard Learn servers and database will be moved to a data center that will be able to expand services as needed to meet the ever-increasing demand of our campus. This data center is run by Blackboard and we will have real-time support from the company that knows best how to run the application they designed.
In order to make this cutover, Blackboard Learn will be unavailable to all users on Monday and Tuesday, March 17-18, 2014. Please plan accordingly for the outage and make adjustments as needed for assignments, deadlines, due dates, etc. Additionally, any files you will need during the transition should be downloaded prior to March 17.
No change is required for users of Blackboard Learn—all the changes will occur transparently to end users of the service. The Student Technology Center and e-Learning Center will still provide the same excellent Blackboard support services and support that they have always provided to our students, faculty and staff, and the Information Technology Services teams will still provide technical support for integration of new functionality and testing of new building blocks.
