- IGP student Austin Dikeman was awarded the prestigious 2018 Goldwater Scholarship.
- Jayne Sandoval, an IGP student studying Chinese and Mechanical Engineering, was recently accepted into the Graduate Horizons program, geared towards helping Native American students prepare for applying for graduate schools. Jayne will participate in a four-day workshop with key individuals such as admission officers, professors, and deans who will mentor and advise participants on the admissions process, professional/career development, and the various fields of study, research, and graduate programs available.
- Another success for internships abroad! Brece Hendrix, IGP alumni with degrees in Spanish and Forestry, was recently co-published along with other research collaborators in Patagonia for their work on managing invasive species for pine trees in Argentina.
- Skylar Weber, an IGP student studying biomedical science and German received a $1,000 study abroad grant from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest collegiate honor society. Skylar will use the grant to study at Universität Konstanz in Konstanz, Germany. She was one of 75 selected based on academic achievement, community service, and career goals.
- Jessica Archibald, an IGP student studying Environmental Studies & Spanish, was recently recognized for her publication while working at CONICET in Patagonia, Argentina.
- Melissa Armstrong, IGP Director and Associate Director of CIE, won the President’s Achievement Award.
- Austin Dikeman, an IGP student studying French and Biology, was recently highlighted for her Goldware Scholars win.
- Laura Lillis, an IGP student studying Spanish & Biology was awarded the Fulbright-García Robles Commission award to support up to two years in a master’s program at UNAM.
- Jordyn Upton, an IGP student studying Biology & Spanish, was selected from over 4,000 entries to present at the the National Council on Undergraduate Research conference in Georgia.
- Mia Pique, an IGP student studying Geology & Spanish, received a HURA award to continue her work on Reventador volcano
- Dr. David Weber, IGP Coordinator and NAU Professor, lead the NAU CIS team to win at the software innovation challenge at the AIS Student Chapter Leadership Conference in Philadelphia.
- Professor Dr. Michael Ort, an IGP Coordinator, was granted the Award for Faculty Excellence in Global Learning.
