The Northern Arizona University, W.A. Franke College of Business School of Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) is pleased to announce that Dr. Allen Reich and professor Mark Molinaro will serve as Isbell Hospitality Ethics Professors for the 2020-2021 academic year.
Ethics in Hospitality
The goal of the Isbell Professorship is to improve the ethical climate in the hospitality and tourism industry by emphasizing and highlighting awareness for hospitality students and professionals. This goal is pursued through research, teaching, and professional workshops. Research literature supports that it is imperative to teach ethics to hospitality students.
Dr. Allen Reich holds a B.B.A. in Management from Texas State University, an M.H.M. (Master of Hospitality Management) from the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston, and a Ph.D. in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Virginia Tech. In 1998 Dr. Reich joined Northern Arizona University and continues to share his knowledge of Hospitality Marketing and Human Resources Management with the students of HRM. Previously, Dr. Reich was named Faulty of the Year (NAU President’s Award) in addition to numerous other awards and achievements.
Professor Mark Molinaro received his B.A. in Anthropology from Cleveland State University, an A.A. in Culinary Arts from New England Culinary Institute, and his M.Ed. in Leadership from Northern Arizona University. Currently, he is pursuing his doctoral degree in Educational Leadership with Northern Arizona University. After a successful career in the fine-dining world, Professor Molinaro transitioned into teaching the culinary arts. He brings his passion and experience to the students of HRM, inspiring them to apply their strengths in the promotion of enjoyable, healthy, and sustainable culinary arts.
What is ahead
As part of their roles as Isbell Hospitality Ethics Professors, Dr. Allen Reich and Professor Mark Molinaro will each work on a refereed paper in the area of Ethics in Hospitality and Tourism and help to organize a professional summit with a key topic focused on ethics. The summit is planned to take place in the spring or summer of the coming year, and will be geared towards professionals, with students invited and encouraged to attend.
Dr. Allen Reich and Professor Mark Molinaro are two outstanding faculty members at the Northern Arizona University, W.A. Franke College of Business School of Hotel and Restaurant Management. We look forward to following their work in the coming academic year as Isbell Hospitality Ethics Professors.
