Student Philanthropy Council
What we do at NAU… Accordion Closed
Our main priority is to educate the student body on the importance and impact of philanthropy, volunteerism and charitable contributions. We support NAU’s Student Giving Campaigns through various promotional and fundraising events, helping to build a strong tradition of Lumberjack pride and student giving here on campus. All funds raised from the student body during the campaign count towards our goal and directly help NAU students. Last year, we raised over $6,000!
Our scholarships make a difference… Accordion Closed
The SPC created the NAU Student Philanthropy Scholarship and the NAU Senior Legacy Scholarship, both of which are solely funded by the contributions of the NAU student body. Currently, we oversee, promote and fund raise for both during the school year. Our main source of funding for these scholarships comes from our annual telethon by the True Blue Call Crew. All donations made to these scholarships count towards the NAU Student Giving Campaign goal above.
How we serve our community… Accordion Closed
Besides the fundraising initiatives of the group, we also volunteer at numerous Flagstaff community centers and organizations, as well as here on the NAU campus. Service and giving back to our community is a major component of the SPC, and all members fulfill a required number of hours each semester. Building relationships with our community partners is rewarding in so many ways, and we are always seeking out new opportunities to make a difference.
Time for fun… Accordion Closed
The SPC is not just all work and no play. We are also about having a good time! We get together for fun, group-bonding activities throughout the school year, building life-long friendships in the process.
