NAU 102 Overview
NAU 102: Transfer Transitions to NAU an interactive community building experience designed to provide you with a strong transition from a community college, tribal college, or other institution of higher education to Northern Arizona University. Through in-class activities, students will form a community of fellow transfers with whom they can collaborate and seek advice. The course also facilitates connections with faculty, staff, and peers beyond the classroom through various meeting and contact assessments. Students will encounter relevant theories, engage in meaningful self-reflection, and connect with key academic resources. In doing so, the course lays the groundwork for a successful and meaningful transfer experience.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Understand and troubleshoot your Transfer Credit Report
- Understand and apply the principles of Transition Theory and Design Thinking to your transfer experience
- Identify and leverage your strengths in a new academic setting
- Inventory your assets and liabilities
- Understand the importance of diversity at NAU
- Identify and begin to leverage NAU resources, tools, and your support community
- Begin to confidently troubleshoot issues and advocate for yourself
- Articulate the importance of self-care for collegiate success
- Reflect upon and effectively respond to academic feedback at NAU
- Articulate the desired outcomes for your NAU experience and the strategies you will employ to achieve them
